A documented survey
Example radon survey report
A house in La Chaux-du-Milieu, built in 2007, was measured from 12 to 18 December 2018. This anonymised example presents the results and the interventions proposed by Robert Gaisch.
Describe my situation| Room | Level | Radon (Bq/m³) |
|---|---|---|
| West cellar | −1 | 1 300 ± 130 |
| Foot of the stairs | −1 | 930 ± 90 |
| Central cellar | −1 | 180 ± 20 |
| East civil protection shelter | −1 | 100 ± 10 |
| West bedroom | 0 | 730 ± 70 |
| Living room | 0 | 650 ± 60 |
Values and uncertainties reproduced from the report. They relate only to this building and period.
What the survey shows
The report identifies the west cellar as the main source and describes spread into rooms on the floor above. Secondary entry points remain possible beneath areas without a basement.
Proposed options
- Depressurise the west cellar and limit air movement into other rooms.
- Install a sump beneath the slab; its effect depends in particular on permeability beneath the building.
What needs checking next
The document presents options, with no post-work results. The solution must be adapted to the building and its effectiveness checked through follow-up measurements.
