On site: the stages of radon mitigation

Photographs from the field help explain the work: identifying likely entry points, intervening in the building and monitoring concentrations to document the effect.

Describe my situation
01

Examine the building before choosing a solution

Measurements from different rooms are analysed alongside construction details. This helps us understand how radon moves through the building and select useful investigations or tests.

The survey provides the basis for a tailored proposal rather than the same solution for every building.

02

Implement the selected solution

The photographs below show work on sub-slab pipework and extraction. They illustrate installation within the building: pipe positioning, connections and access to the system.

The technique depends on the survey, ground conditions and building constraints. Robert carries out the work; any other trades involved are specified in the quotation.

03

Measure the effect and present it in a report

Concentrations are monitored before and after the work. The mitigation report presents the interventions and results alongside the measurement conditions. Confirmation using passive detectors is then arranged according to the applicable schedule.

The photographs shown here illustrate the work; results specific to a building are documented in its mitigation report.

An initial discussion

What about your
building?

A measurement, a result, a question. Let’s start there.
