Radon in Neuchâtel

Radon in the canton of Neuchâtel

Based in Corcelles, Robert Gaisch supports your radon project in the canton of Neuchâtel: assessing your needs, surveying the building, carrying out work and confirming the results.

Describe my situation
01

Radon in the canton

The national map shows the probability of exceeding the reference level, not the concentration in your home. Ground conditions, air entry routes and construction mean that conditions vary from one building to another. Measurements in occupied rooms are still needed to assess your exposure, even if a neighbour already has a result.

02

Building or renovating in Neuchâtel

The Service de l’énergie et de l’environnement (SENE) provides cantonal information and the radon commitment form for construction or alteration projects. Check with your municipality which documents your application requires. Planning pipe routes, airtightness and ventilation in advance allows radon protection to be built into the project before work begins.

03

Support from Corcelles

If you have no previous measurements, we consider the location, building, occupancy and your timeframe to suggest a suitable approach. If you already have results, we start by reviewing them.

An in-depth survey involves approximately one week of simultaneous measurements in rooms in contact with the ground, with additional measurements on upper floors where needed. It provides the basis for solutions where the findings warrant action.

04

Preparing your enquiry and the next steps

Tell us the municipality, building type, number of rooms and other spaces in contact with the ground, your objective and timeframe. Include any results or documents received from the authorities if available; you can also send these after the first contact.

If mitigation is needed, Robert prepares the proposal and carries out the work. Monitoring before and after the work, the mitigation report and confirmation using passive detectors are all part of the same service.

Your questions

Does the canton of Neuchâtel require radon measurements?

Requirements depend on the building’s circumstances and the applicable procedure. For projects requiring a permit, consult the SENE documents and your municipality’s requirements. The Radiological Protection Ordinance also requires cantons to ensure that recognised measurements are carried out in schools and nurseries.

How should I prepare for an appointment in Neuchâtel?

Tell us the municipality, what you need and when you are available. Robert will confirm the arrangements and schedule after this initial discussion. Neither a lead time nor a fixed travel charge can be inferred solely from proximity to Corcelles.

What about your
building?

A measurement, a result, a question. Let’s start there.
